Rankscale is a Generative Engine Optimization platform built by an Austrian company. Where SEO tools measure your position in a list of links, Rankscale measures whether AI engines mention you at all, and what they say when they do.

Why It Matters

A growing share of research now ends inside an AI answer without a click reaching your site. Classic rank tracking cannot see that, which is why GEO tools exist as a separate category.

European Ownership, US Hosting

Rankscale is registered as Rankscale GmbH in Vienna (VAT ATU82401848, company register 658253w), and its Imprint cites §25 Mediengesetz, Austrian media law. Ownership is genuinely European.

Hosting is not. Rankscale's own privacy policy states the service is "hosted entirely on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with the primary data center in Iowa, USA", with EU Standard Contractual Clauses as the transfer safeguard under Article 46(2)(c) GDPR. GCP holds ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO 27018 and SOC 2 Type II.

That combination is worth understanding rather than glossing: an Austrian company cannot itself be compelled under the US CLOUD Act, but the US provider holding the data can be. If your requirement is EU data residency rather than EU ownership, this is a genuine constraint. Read the DPA guidance and check whether an EU region is available on your plan.
