How we reached this
Finnish legal entity: Sales Led Oy, trading as Clevenio, named in the footer of the privacy policy and terms and in the opening line of the Terms of Service, read 2026-09-01. The Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, with disputes settled by arbitration under the Finland Chamber of Commerce rules, seat Helsinki, and contract communication in English or Finnish. No business ID (Y-tunnus) is published on the site, which is the one identification detail missing. Hosting is EU on the vendor's statement that databases are located in the EU/EEA; Schrems II risk is MEDIUM and exposure UNKNOWN because the same sentence adds that "some of our third-party vendors may locate outside EU, including United States" without naming them or saying what they touch. Transfers outside the EEA rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, so sccInPlace is true. dpaEvidence ON_REQUEST: the policy refers to "the agreed data processing agreement made between us and the controller", so a DPA exists contractually, but no document was located at a public URL. PARTIAL rather than better because no sub-processor is named and, notably for a contact-data vendor, no separate statement sets out the legitimate-interest analysis, the sources, or the objection route for the people in the database. Vainu publishes exactly that document, and the contrast is the main evidence gap between the two. Buyer-side point recorded in the listing: prospect records are personal data about people who never opted in, and the customer is controller of them once they land in the CRM, with Article 6 and Article 14 obligations of their own. Pricing is "Ask for pricing" on a page headed "Transparent pricing".
About Clevenio
The Whole Market in Your CRM, Not a List You Bought Once
Clevenio's argument is against the way most sales teams buy data: a list, exported once, decaying from the day it arrives, followed by another list when the first runs dry.
Instead the product maps an entire target market and keeps mapping it. You describe your ICP, Clevenio turns it into a call list inside your CRM, and the dataset is monitored continuously so a new company appears without anyone noticing it manually.
How the Data Is Built
The company is unusually specific about its method, which is worth crediting because most data vendors are vague on exactly this point:
Public business registers give us the foundation, and LLMs cross-reference them with public data across the web, matching the right decision-makers to the right companies.
For the Finnish database that means the full trade register rather than a sample, decision-makers across the organisation rather than only the CEO, phone numbers drawn from operator data and matched to the person, financial statements, industry codes, headcount, and ownership and group structure.
The European database covers the Nordics, Baltics, DACH, Benelux, Poland and the UK, built from each country's local business register plus professional networks and the open web.
API, CRM Sync and MCP
Every plan includes CRM sync, API access and MCP access, so the data is usable directly inside ChatGPT or Claude. Very few data vendors of any size have shipped MCP yet, and for a sales team that already works in an assistant it removes the export step entirely.
Pricing Says Transparent, and Is Not
The pricing page is headed "Transparent pricing" and both databases are priced "Ask for pricing", with a demo booking as the only route. That is a fair thing to do and an odd thing to label transparent, and a buyer comparing options should know that evaluating Clevenio starts with a call.
Clevenio also sells services around the data, from ICP definition through to first booked meeting.
Finnish, With EU/EEA Storage
Operated by Sales Led Oy. The Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Finland, with any dispute settled by arbitration under the Finland Chamber of Commerce rules, seat Helsinki. Contract communication is in English or Finnish.
On data, the privacy policy is clear about where the line falls:
We store your data in the databases located in the EU/EEA. However, some of our third-party vendors may locate outside EU, including United States.
Transfers outside the EEA rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. The policy also sets out the controller/processor split properly: Clevenio is processor for data its customers put into the platform under an agreed data processing agreement, and controller for the publicly available data it collects itself about people in their company roles.
What is missing is the layer below that: no vendor is named, no business ID is published on the site, and there is no separate statement of the legitimate-interest analysis behind the contact database. Vainu publishes exactly that document, and it is the main evidence gap between the two.
The Part That Is Your Job
A prospect database is personal data about people who never asked to be in it. Clevenio being Finnish does not discharge your obligations once the records land in your CRM: you need a lawful basis under Article 6, you owe those people the Article 14 notice because you did not collect their data from them, and you have to honour objection and erasure requests from people who never opted in. That is normal, it is doable, and it is yours rather than the vendor's.
Where It Fits
The direct comparison is Vainu, also Finnish and covering the same Nordic ground with far more published compliance documentation and openly published prices. Clevenio counters with wider European coverage, MCP access and the outbound services layer. See also Dealfront, Cognism and Albacross in sales prospecting.
