How we reached this

Spanish legal entity: CPC Servicios Informáticos Aplicados a Nuevas Tecnologías S.L., trading as Mailrelay, registered office C/ Nardo 12, 28250 Torrelodones, Madrid, NIF ESB83964601, from the privacy policy read 2026-09-01. Hosting is EU on the vendor's statement that data is stored in data centres located in Europe, which gives Schrems II risk LOW. PARTIAL rather than COMPLIANT because that statement names neither a country nor a provider, and no sub-processor list or DPA was located at a public URL. Exposure is UNKNOWN rather than NONE for the same reason: European data centres can still be operated by American companies, and the policy does not say who runs them. The company registered its "WEBSITE USERS" file with the Spanish Data Protection Agency, a pre-GDPR formality but an indication of long-standing engagement with the AEPD, and states that card details are never written to a database, going directly to the bank's payment terminal. Pricing verified 2026-09-01: free plan is 80,000 emails per month to 20,000 stored contacts, free forever, including chat, ticket and phone support; transactional SMTP/API is a 30-day trial then +14.95 €/month; WhatsApp campaigns are a 10-day trial then +9.95 €/month with Meta's per-conversation fee billed directly to the customer at no margin.

About Mailrelay

The Free Tier Is the Story

Free plans in email marketing are usually a demo with a subscriber cap somewhere between 250 and 2,000, and support routed to a help centre.

Mailrelay's free plan is 80,000 emails a month to 20,000 stored contacts, free forever, and it includes chat, ticket and phone support along with open and click tracking. That is not a trial. For a great many small businesses, associations, newsletters and side projects, that is the whole product, permanently, for nothing.

The catch, and it is a mild one: the public campaign archive carries Mailrelay branding on the free plan, sending goes through the standard rather than the priority queue, and the two add-ons are chargeable after a trial. Transactional email over SMTP and API is a 30-day trial then +14.95 €/month; WhatsApp campaigns are a 10-day trial then +9.95 €/month plus whatever Meta charges per conversation, which Mailrelay passes through at no margin and says so.

Paid tiers (Standard and Enterprise) unlock the priority queue, unbranded archives, and both add-ons included, priced by contact volume from 20,000 up to 10 million.

What Else Is In It

  • Campaign building with open and click tracking
  • Transactional email over SMTP and API, which most platforms at this price point do not offer at all
  • WhatsApp campaigns, with the Meta conversation fee billed directly to you rather than marked up
  • Contact management scaling to 10 million
  • Chat, ticket and phone support on every plan including free

Spanish, With European Data Centres

Published by CPC Servicios Informáticos Aplicados a Nuevas Tecnologías S.L., registered office C/ Nardo 12, 28250 Torrelodones, Madrid, NIF ESB83964601.

The privacy policy states: "The data is stored in data centers located in Europe, and will not be shared with third parties without the user's prior consent, unless legally required." Card details are not stored, going directly to the bank's payment terminal, and the company registered its user file with the Spanish Data Protection Agency, which is a pre-GDPR formality but a sign of long-standing engagement with the AEPD.

"Located in Europe" is a real commitment and it is why hosting reads EU here. What it is not is a named country or a named provider, and no sub-processor list or DPA was located at a public URL. That is the gap between this and COMPLIANT.

Where It Fits

Against Acumbamail in Spain and MailerLite or Brevo more broadly. If budget is the binding constraint and you can live without a published sub-processor list, nothing else in email marketing gives away this much.

Phone support on the free plan, which is close to unheard of
Transactional sending over SMTP and API, rare at this price point
States that data is stored in European data centres
Passes Meta's WhatsApp conversation fee through without a margin, and says so
"Data centres located in Europe" names neither a country nor a provider
No sub-processor list or DPA published, so who operates those data centres is unknown
Transactional email and WhatsApp are chargeable add-ons after a short trial
Free plan uses the standard queue and brands the public archive
Automation depth is thinner than platforms built for e-commerce

Spotted something wrong?

Martech moves fast. Vendors change hosting regions, get acquired, publish a new DPA or rewrite their pricing, and they rarely announce it. We check what we publish and date every compliance review, but some of what you see here will be out of date before we catch it.

If you work at Mailrelay and something on this page is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Readers, same invitation. Pointing us at the page that proves it gets it changed fastest.
