NotesVAT number IT13079420967 identifies an Italian registration, so ownership is Italian. The vendor's own pages also name Google LLC and Google Inc, indicating US infrastructure or services in the processing chain, which means US authorities can reach data held by that provider even though the vendor has no US parent. The specific hosting region and DPA availability have not been verified.

About Publytics

Publytics is an Italian web analytics service aimed at publishers rather than ecommerce. It works without cookies, so no consent banner is required, and it reports on the things a content business actually needs: which authors and articles perform, how readers move between pieces, and where traffic originates. It can import historic data in the Google Analytics format so a migration does not start from zero.

Publytics GDPR & data protection: common questions

Is Publytics GDPR compliant?

Partly. Publytics meets some of the requirements, with caveats worth reading before you commit. Publytics is a European company headquartered in Italy, and a Data Processing Agreement is published. Every claim on this page links to the vendor's own documentation.

Where does Publytics store data?

We could not locate a clear statement of where Publytics hosts data. Ask the vendor directly, or check their privacy policy and sub-processor list before signing.

Does Publytics offer a Data Processing Agreement (DPA)?

Yes. Publytics publishes a DPA at https://publytics.net/dpa. A DPA is required under Article 28 GDPR whenever a provider processes personal data on your behalf.

What a DPA has to cover

Is Publytics a European company?

Yes. Publytics is headquartered in Italy and, as far as we can establish, European-owned.

Is Publytics subject to the US CLOUD Act?

Yes. US authorities can compel disclosure of data held by a US company or its subsidiaries, regardless of the country the servers sit in. EU hosting alone does not remove this, the question is who controls the data, not where the disk is.
