How we reached this

French legal entity: SKALIN, a simplified joint-stock company (SAS) with capital of EUR 5,000, registered office 12 rue Belfort, 94170 Le Perreux-sur-Marne, France, registered with the Créteil Trade and Companies Register under 898 856 836, VAT FR08898856836, named in the legal notice, privacy policy and terms of service, read raw 2026-09-07. PARTIAL rather than COMPLIANT: the EU-only hosting and no-transfer claim is unambiguous and, if accurate, is a strong position, but no hosting provider, data centre country, or sub-processor is named to check it against, and no sub-processor list is published. dpaEvidence ON_REQUEST: the privacy policy refers users to "our Data Processing Agreement" by name but does not link a public URL for it; a Google integration section separately confirms a DPA exists contractually. extraterritorialExposure NONE and schremsIIRisk LOW on the strength of the explicit no-transfer-outside-the-EU statement, with sccInPlace false because no international transfer (and therefore no SCC mechanism) is described or needed under that claim. The company's own marketing website is hosted by Umso Software Inc, a Canadian website-builder platform, which is a front-end detail distinct from where customer product data is said to live and is not treated as contradicting the EU hosting claim. Governing law and DPO contact (dpo@skalin.io) are French; CNIL is named as the complaints authority. Explicitly positioned for CS teams of 1-15 people at early-stage B2B SaaS companies, smaller and earlier-stage than Velaris or Akita.

About Skalin

Built for the 1-15 Person CS Team, Not the Enterprise

Where Gainsight and even Velaris are built to scale into large, multi-segment CS organisations, Skalin's stated target is much narrower: early-stage B2B SaaS companies with a customer success team of one to fifteen people. That focus shows up in the pricing and the feature set, both of which are simpler and cheaper than the category norm.

What's In the Product

  • 360° customer view pulling account data into one place
  • AI-native Health Score, built into the core plan rather than sold as an add-on
  • Project management for onboarding and implementation work
  • Smart Alerts and Playbooks for proactive, repeatable processes
  • An AI-powered assistant and analytics dashboard
  • Full API access on the standard plan

The Add-Ons tier, sold separately on a "let's talk" basis, adds an opportunity pipeline, team monitoring, customer goals, a customer portal and a dedicated CSM, capabilities that a larger platform would usually bundle into its top plan.

One Plan, One Published Price

Skalin sells a single Scale plan at €569/month billed annually (€699/month billed monthly, with a one-year commitment), including 5 full-access seats and unlimited read-only licenses, no setup fee. That is refreshingly simple next to Velaris's quote-only pricing, though it is still a meaningful monthly cost for a very early-stage company, and Skalin's own target segment (1-15 person CS teams) sits at the edge of what a bootstrapped startup can justify.

A Plain EU Hosting Claim, With Less Detail Than It Could Have

Skalin's privacy policy states without qualification: "Your personal data is hosted and processed in the European Union. No transfer of personal data is made to a country outside the European Union." That is a clean claim and, taken at face value, a stronger starting position than most vendors on this site who acknowledge US infrastructure somewhere in the stack.

The gap is specificity. No hosting provider or country is named beyond "European Union," there's no published sub-processor list, and the DPA referenced in the privacy policy ("please check our Data Processing Agreement") isn't linked to a public URL, only available by asking. For a company this size that's a normal state of affairs rather than a red flag, but it is short of what Vainu or Akita publish.

The Company

SKALIN, a French SAS (simplified joint-stock company) with capital of €5,000, registered office at 12 rue Belfort, 94170 Le Perreux-sur-Marne, France, registered with the Créteil Trade and Companies Register under 898 856 836, VAT FR08898856836. The marketing website itself is hosted by Umso Software Inc, a Canadian website builder, which is normal for a small company's front-end site and separate from where customer product data lives.

Where It Fits

Against Gainsight directly, Skalin is a fraction of the size and openly positioned for a much smaller buyer. Against Velaris and Akita, Skalin has the cleanest data-residency claim of the three but the least documentation behind it. See also customer success.
