How we reached this
Ownership checked 2026-10-08 against Pipedrive's own documents. Newsroom, 3 September 2026: "Headquartered in New York, the company is backed by majority shareholder Vista Equity Partners alongside other leading global technology investors." About page: "Backed by global investment firm Vista Equity Partners". A 16 December 2020 newsroom item says it reached unicorn status "after receiving a majority investment from Vista Equity Partners". Vista Equity Partners is described as an American private equity firm headquartered in Austin, Texas (Wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vista_Equity_Partners; not a Pipedrive document). The EU contracting entity is Pipedrive OU, Tallinn, Estonia (Terms, by billing address, Estonian law); Pipedrive, Inc. (New York) is named in the DPA as a recipient of personal data in the United States and is the entity certified for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. hqCountry was left as Estonia, the seat of the EU contracting entity, although Pipedrive describes itself as headquartered in New York: this needs an owner decision. Hosting: AWS regions include EU (Frankfurt) and EU (Dublin); new sign-ups are assigned by origin region, EU clients primarily to the EU; no customer-selectable region was found and no hosting source is recorded. Partly. Pipedrive is headquartered in Estonia, but the ultimate parent, Vista Equity Partners (United States), is outside the EU, so foreign disclosure law can reach the group even though the team and offices are European.
Is Pipedrive subject to the US CLOUD Act?
Yes. US authorities can compel disclosure of data held by a US company or its subsidiaries, regardless of the country the servers sit in. EU hosting alone does not remove this, the question is who controls the data, not where the disk is. Standard Contractual Clauses are in place for transfers, which is the required safeguard but does not override a lawful US order.
